Loving Lorac for a Holiday Look!

My make up obsession has been re-invented with Lorac.  I recently worked on three gorgeous models for Aliana Events’ private party at the SLS in Beverly Hills. I had the best time using Lorac’s Pro To Go palette, and loved it so much, that I decided to do a Holiday Tutorial all about it!! Below is what I used to create this look…

Pro To Go PaletteUnknown-2images-2lancome-le-crayon-khol-eyeliner-pencil-black-ebony-d-2011033017162017~108541BabydollUnknown-1

Here is a step by step to achieve this easy Holiday look:

1. Apply Pearl all over

2. Apply Shell to the lower part of your top lid

3. Apply Cafe into your crease

4. BLEND

5. “Pack” Chai on to your lid and crease

6. BLEND

7. Take a black eye liner and only tight line the top lid (under the lash line on the top of the lid)

8. Take a foundation brush or clean wipe and get rid of excess shadow product at an angle up toward your temple for a clean line

9. Apply a LOT of mascara but make sure to spread out the lashes!

10. If needed, apply concealer and gold shimmer to the top lid for a fun twist!

For a more dramatic look, feel free to create a cat eye with black liner at an exaggerated angle. Also, make sure to wear foundation, blush, bronzer, highlighter, and a pretty lip when going to those fabulous parties!  My grandmother always says, “Try to look your best, for you never know who you might meet!”

So here’s to looking gorgeous, gorgeous! Happy Bronzing!

Warm Me Up!

Mmmm…..I so enjoy the holiday season! My husband, Mike, and I love to snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa especially when November comes around.  Therefore, Hot Cocoa is a MUST for this Must Have Monday!

Hot cocoa has many benefits besides being delicious. It possesses antioxidants which are stronger in potency than those found in red wine! Flavonoids are also present in hot cocoa and increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain (students take note as this can help you think more effectively.) For me? I just love the texture, taste and wonderful memories associated with a hot cup of cocoa!

Now, instant packets may be tasty, but it’s healthier to make your own. Here is a recipe for home made hot cocoa I found from Betty Crocker that includes cinnamon, a known circulation stimulant!

You Will Need:

Unknown Unknown-1Unknown-2Unknown-3

4 cups light chocolate soy milk
2 oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

1. In 2-quart saucepan, heat soymilk, chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.

2. Heat to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring constantly; reduce heat to low.
Simmer 4 minutes, stirring frequently, to blend flavors.

3. Garnish each serving with whipped topping (if desired).

Enjoy! What are some of your favorite holiday treats?

Happy Hot Cocoa-ing!

A little runway

0-100-2

Oh I LOVE a good model! And today I had the pleasure of glamming up three already gorgeous ladies for a big private party at the SLS in Beverly Hills.

Ananda McAdams (anandamcadams on instagram) is my beautiful model friend, and she wears my bronze smokey eye like a dream.  A very good dream.  I have dubbed bronze the color of this season, and simply cannot get enough.  For less of a runway look, apply the bronze shadow up to the crease, instead of all the way to the eyebrow.

All three ladies were beautified by me and dressed in custom made costumes and hair pieces.  I cannot wait for the professional photos!

To achieve this look I used:

Eyes to Kill Shadow #5 by Armani Beauty, Lorac To Go Palette, Kat Von D Liquid “tattoo” pen, Lorac Bronzer and Highlighter, and Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Would you wear bronze shadow?  I intend to rock this look all season!!!

Happy Bronzing!

How to Contour in Five Easy Steps!

The Holiday season is upon us, and why not look fabulous whilst enjoying food and drink?

The holidays can be our biggest nemesis in the face bloating department with the extra sugar, salt and calories ingested which can result in a slightly more plump facial appearance. Never fear, I have five easy steps to make you look as svelte as ever without having to compromise on those yummy treats. As with everything, though, remember moderation!

1.) Apply bronzer or contour color in the hollow of your cheeks. (if you don’t know where this is, make a fishy face, and where your cheeks dip in, that’s where you want to concentrate the contour!) and BLEND
2.) Apply highlight powder to the cheekbone and orbital zone and BLEND
3.) Use a highlighting pen under the eyes, eyes brows, down the nose, upper lip and chin, and also in the middle of the forehead tracing down the bridge of the nose and BLEND
4.) Apply blush like a Nike Swoosh from the apple of the cheek to the temple and BLEND
5.) Set with powder so it will stay all day!

Have fun with this, and remember to BLEND! Let me know if you have any questions!

What are some of your favorite Holiday looks? What would you like to see demonstrated!?? Me? I love anything that sparkles and glitters!

Happy Contouring!

BLISS-fully in Love!

BLISS-fully in Love!

Oh my goodness….I’ve re-discovered, “Bliss.” This brand is one I will always love yet sometimes forget to recommend as it is simply a staple in my household. Therefore the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask is absolutely my Must Have Monday product of choice.

Bliss is a “spa line” found in beautiful hotels, and all their products for sale are used in their spas. This particular Mask delivers oxygen to the skin in seconds, and is a lot of fun to put on.

1.) Dampen your skin
2.) Put the mask on
3.) Wait for it to start to foam
4.) After about five minutes, wash off for noticeably improved skin!

The Mask has an innovative Fluid02 technology, uses the most powerful form of Vitamin C (for those who want more even skin tones while tightening), and helps to protect skin cells from free radical damage with super powerful antioxidants! This mask is seriously like a mini facial in the comfort of your own home!

One bottle lasts about a year and runs at $54. Not bad considering most facials alone are $50!

So grab your bottle, dampen your skin, and have some fun while giving your face some serious love!

Happy Foaming!

E

Angel Food Style

Angel Food Style

Sophie is one of my favorite clients. We have the best time creating seasonal looks for her blog, “Angel Food Style.” Sophie’s beauty is classic and every time we get together, we deem whatever we create our “instant new favorite!”

My biggest trick with Sophie is using browns and golds and blending blending blending! People sometimes underestimate the power of blending. It is key to a perfect eye. Reason being, when you blend colors together, the “seams” disappear, and you get a beautiful color gradient. If you get tired of blending, make it like a ritual! Knowing that when you’re done, you will look amazing!!!

What are some of your favorite beauty rituals? (Besides blending A LOT, another one of mine is washing my face before bed every night- I know my skin is grateful and it feels so good to wash away the day!)

Happy blending!

E

Bonnie and I

Oh I love Halloween! While I do enjoy dressing up with blood and special effects, it’s sometimes nice to go a little glam. And that is why Faye Dunaway’s Bonnie Parker from Bonnie and Clyde is my choice for this year!

The outfit is simple and probably already existing in your wardrobe. You will need:
1. Blonde Bob Wig
2. Sweater
3. Checkered or patterned scarf
4. Pencil skirt or wool skirt
5. Pumps
6. Barret or newsboy cap turned backwards

For make up it is surprisingly simple. You will need:
1. Foundation
2. One light eyeshadow
3. One highlighting pen
4. One Contour shadow (for eyes, nose, and cheeks)
5. Liquid eye liner
6. False Eye Lashes (and glue)
7. Mascara
8. Brow pencil in an ash blonde
9. Nude Lipstick
10. Nude gloss

Steps!

1. Prep your skin and apply foundation and brows a little pointier than normal
2. Use a shadow base to keep the shadow in place
3. From lash line to brow bone, apply light colored eye shadow
4. Apply highlighting pen under brow bone, under eyes, on middle of nose, above the lip and chin
5. Use contour eye shadow color on eyes in crease
6. Contour the sides and under part of your nose (as Faye’s is quite small) with shadow contour
7. Contour your cheeks with your shadow contour
8. Apply liquid liner and false eye lashes
9. Curl your lashes a little and apply mascara
10. Use the ashy brow pencil to exaggerate your lip shape and apply nude lipstick and gloss

Voila! You’re done! What are some of your favourite Halloween looks either you have seen or worn yourself??? Thanks for tuning in, and Happy Halloween!

Glossy Stain Rebel Nude for Long Wearing Kissable Lips

Glossy Stain for Long Wearing Kissable Lips

Oh my gosh. This little nugget is the perfect addition to my YSL obsession this month deeming it the “Must Have Monday” product of choice. It is a gloss, stain, and lipstick all in one! I love that its wine berry ingredient is as an anti-oxident, and the fact that it’s 20% water means that it doesn’t dry my lips out.

I fell in love with Glossy Stain #108, “Violine Out of Control,” because it is the brilliant fuchsia we’ve been seeing so much of this fall. I can’t wait to pair this bold lip with a fine winged black eye liner and big lashes!

What are your fall obsessions? Obviously for me, it’s purple and gold! (Go Huskies!)

Happy Staining and Keep on Kissing!

Love and Beauty,

E
